Field-Tested Standards
Part IThe Constitution

Fifteen standards, no exceptions.

Every lesson in the program is an application of one of these fifteen commitments. They are not motivational ideas — they are the operating standard members are held to, week after week.

  • 01

    Ownership

I take responsibility for my choices, preparation, effort, and response.

  • 02

    Truth

I do not build my life on denial, excuses, manipulation, or convenient half-truths.

  • 03

    Discipline

I do what is necessary even when motivation is absent.

  • 04

    Self-Respect

I do not repeatedly violate my own standards to obtain approval or avoid loss.

  • 05

    Physical Readiness

I maintain a body capable of work, protection, endurance, and healthy aging.

  • 06

    Emotional Command

I feel emotions without surrendering command of my behavior to them.

  • 07

    Courage

I move toward necessary discomfort instead of organizing my life around avoidance.

  • 08

    Boundaries

I communicate standards clearly and control my participation rather than other people.

  • 09

    Competence

I continually improve the skills required by my responsibilities.

  • 10

    Stewardship

I manage money, time, possessions, and opportunities deliberately.

  • 11

    Family

I give the people I love presence, protection, guidance, affection, and accountability.

  • 12

    Service

Strength is used for something larger than ego.

  • 13

    Humility

I remain teachable and revise my beliefs when evidence requires it.

  • 14

    Brotherhood

I choose relationships that reward honesty, responsibility, and growth.

  • 15

    Legacy

I make decisions with the person I am becoming and the people who follow me in mind.

Part IIThe Program

One lesson. One assignment. One measurable change.

Each week pairs a core teaching with a field assignment members complete in real life — then a live coaching session where the work gets pressure-tested.

01

Take Command

Ownership & the end of drift

  • Facts before stories
  • Responsibility is not the same as blame
  • Control your response, preparation, standards, and participation
02

Identity Before Outcome

Self-respect, values & self-trust

  • Values must become observable behavior
  • Approval is unstable; self-trust is earned
  • Identity should survive rejection, failure, and status loss
03

Discipline Without Drama

Systems, habits & execution

  • Reduce choices
  • Schedule important work before optional work
  • Completion is a skill
04

Emotional Command

Regulation, triggers & response

  • Emotion contains information, not commands
  • Regulate physiology before responding
  • Delay irreversible decisions when highly activated
05

Courage & Discomfort

Fear, avoidance & resilience

  • Avoidance reinforces fear
  • Use graduated exposure
  • Recovery after failure is trainable
06

Boundaries & Relationships

Standards without control

  • A boundary governs your action
  • Watch patterns, not promises
  • Leave room for other adults to choose
07

Communication Under Pressure

Clarity, conflict & difficult conversations

  • Describe observable behavior
  • Explain impact without mind-reading
  • Follow through without threats
08

Physical Readiness

Strength, energy & health

  • Progressive overload
  • Adequate protein and whole foods
  • Sleep and recovery are performance variables
09

Money & Stewardship

Financial clarity & optionality

  • Visibility before optimization
  • Build emergency margin
  • Increase earning power through competence
10

Mission & Enterprise

Purpose, work & value creation

  • Purpose grows through responsibility
  • Value creation precedes monetization
  • Build a reputation around usefulness
11

Fatherhood, Brotherhood & Service

Leadership beyond self

  • Presence is a form of leadership
  • Choose peers carefully
  • Service prevents strength from becoming narcissism
12

The Long Game

Integration, legacy & 90-day plan

  • Review evidence, not feelings
  • Keep what works; remove unsustainable complexity
  • Plan the next 90 days, not the next ten years

The Blackline Life Operating System

What happens between sessions.

The course is 12 weeks. The operating system runs for life — a repeatable daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly rhythm members keep using long after graduation.

Daily

Seven non-negotiable domains — body, mind, mission, learning, relationships, order, and an honest debrief.

Weekly

A structured reset: calendar, three outcomes, training, spending, and one removed task.

Monthly

A full review across body, money, work, relationships, and mind — then a theme for the month ahead.

Quarterly

One primary objective, no more than three metrics. Preserve what works, redesign what fails.

Blackline Academy founder
Part IIIThe Founder

Why Blackline exists.

“A strong life is not created by possessing more information. It is created by repeatedly converting clear principles into behavior.”

Blackline was built on one belief: leadership starts with the ability to lead yourself. Every module in this program exists to close the gap between what a man says he values and what he actually does — under pressure, under fatigue, and when no one is watching.

[Founder input: add your 300–500 word founder’s statement here — why Blackline exists, the experiences that taught you these principles, and what you want a member to become by completing the program.]

Blackline Academy Certificate of Completion
Part VCertification

A credential you earn, not buy.

Every member who completes all 12 weeks, the associated field assignments, and the final 90-day mission receives a Blackline Academy Certificate of Completion — shareable on LinkedIn and issued only to graduates who finish the work.

Licensed facilitators complete an additional certification track before they’re authorized to deliver the program to their own groups, so the standard stays consistent no matter who’s teaching it.

Blackline Academy is not currently an accredited institution. Certificates reflect program completion, not academic or professional accreditation. We’re building toward formal recognition and will update this page as that status changes.
